Hillsboro - Elton Howard, 72, died Monday, Jan 14, at his home in Hillsboro of a heart attack. This was the second heart attack by Mr. Howard in two weeks. Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Bessie Locke. He is survived by his second wife, Sarah; four sons, Kenneth and Russell of Crawfordsville, Cecil of Phoenix, Ariz; and Jack of Veedersburg and two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Holman and Betty Howard both of Crawfordsville. Mr. Howard was born in October, 1884, west of Mellott, the son of Alva and Susan Rice Howard. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Don Weaver of Veedersburg will be the officiating minister. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. -- typed by kbz
